Logging DAs
This section explains the proper procedures for logging Disciplinary Actions (DAs).
Evidence Gathering
- If you witnessed the event leading to the DA, you are required to record the incident (e.g., using video capture software).
- If acting on a report from someone else, gather as much evidence as possible from the reporter and any witnesses.
- Avoid actively interfering with ongoing scenes while gathering information, if possible.
Importance of Documentation
- Appeals: Proper documentation makes it harder for offenders to successfully appeal bans or other actions without merit.
- Recidivism: Logging prevents offenders from easily returning and causing further issues without staff being aware of their history.
- Staff Awareness: Documented DAs inform other staff members about past incidents and the reasons for actions taken.
- Network Review: Logs are crucial when Network Staff review appeals.
Logging Location
All Disciplinary Actions MUST be documented in the Discord channel: #🍄-disciplinary-logs.
This channel serves as the official record for tracking DAs and related incidents.
Logging Format
When logging a DA in #🍄-disciplinary-logs, you MUST use the following format:
IGN: [In-Game Name]
Discord: [<@User's Discord ID>]
UID: [User's Discord ID]
Reason: [Detailed reason for the DA]
DA: [Specific action taken - e.g., Warn, Kick, Ban (duration)]
Evidence Submission
- Create a thread from your DA log message in
#🍄-disciplinary-logs.
- All evidence (video recordings, screenshots, etc.) related to the DA MUST be posted within that thread.
- Video evidence MUST be uploaded as actual video files (e.g., .mp4, .mov). Do NOT link to external clip services like Medal, as these links can expire.
